20180906 – Miltope New Vision Press Release

A New Vision, A New Leader, A New Footprint

Huntsville, Ala., Sept. 12, 2018 — Brigadier General John “Jack” Haley (U.S. Army, Retired) has been chosen to lead and execute a bold new vision for VT Miltope, a company of Vision Technologies Systems, Inc. (VT Systems), long known as a market leader in ultra-rugged computers and wireless networking solutions. Under Haley’s leadership, the company will be expanding its vision, its product lines, its business practices and its footprint.

“We’ve always been known as a premier supplier of ultra-rugged computers for military use while simultaneously building a strong business in wireless networking for the commercial aviation sector,” said Haley. “First, we’re going to secure our base businesses by refreshing our core product lines and then build upon these strengths as we further expand our offerings to new government and transportation markets, while leveraging the capabilities and products of our parent company, ST Engineering, for the U.S. market.”

To facilitate this new vision, Miltope is expanding its presence in Huntsville, Alabama. “Huntsville is the perfect setting for our new headquarters, housing our business, program management and engineering development team,” said Haley. “Additionally, Huntsville will give us excellent access to our military and corporate customers as well as a highly skilled technical workforce.” The new Huntsville headquarters is slated to open in early September and will be located at 7037 Old Madison Pike.

“Our strategy is simple,” said Haley. “We are enhancing those areas where we are already strong, making them stronger wherever possible and then branching into new related markets that can take full advantage of our expertise, people, overall capabilities and commitment to customer service.”

To underscore its commitment to its users, VT Miltope is introducing an enhanced warranty program, On-Point Protection, that includes a 24/7 hotline, specialist intervention and tailored technical solutions such as site visits and video maintenance assistance. “We’re proud that our rugged computing products set the standard for the industry,” Haley commented, “but if something should go wrong, we’ll take ownership of it. We like to say, ‘We don’t make excuses, we just make it right.’”

Recently retired from a successful military career, Haley’s service included three overseas assignments in Germany, three combat tours in Iraq as well as stints at the Pentagon and White House. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Chemistry from St. Lawrence University and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College. Haley and his wife, Jennifer, have been married 30 years and have two daughters.
